Why we started this
We're Mohamad Alsheikh and Kamal Sidi, two computer engineers who've spent our careers actually building things, not managing people who build things. Mohamad owns two company-wide mobile platforms end to end at Khalid Juffali (E.A. Juffali & Brothers) — bilingual React Native apps backed by Django REST APIs, now live on the App Store and Google Play — alongside hands-on IT support work provisioning hardware and networks. Kamal is a full-stack web developer with an honors degree in Computer Engineering, with experience across WordPress, PHP, Java, and JavaScript, building and redesigning e-commerce sites and internal tools for companies in Istanbul and Jeddah.
We started Ruaya to bring that same hands-on approach to businesses that don't have an in-house engineering team. No handoffs between a designer, a project manager, and three different developers — you work directly with the people writing the code: we understand the actual workflow first, ship something people will genuinely use, and stay reachable after launch instead of moving on to the next client the day it ships.
